Sennheiser MX 980 vs 880 ?

Which one is the best choice for earbuds ? , with almost of double price, Is Sennheiser MX 980 the one ?, and Sennheiser MX 880 cannot match this earbuds ? First of all, there are a few earbuds available these days, most or earphones turn into an in-ears, and Sennheiser MX 980 has been place to be a top notch earphones in Sennheiser’s line.

While MX 880 is more up to date earphones, or on the other hand, this earphones is a cheaper version of Sennheiser MX 980. But should you go with the expensive one or the mid price one is good enough ? First of all these two earbuds need no headphone amplifier so you can plug it directly to your audio source like IPad, IPod Classic and IPhone that is very good for a portable purpose. In my opinion, I think Sennheiser MX 980 is one of the best bass earbuds ever !, it comes with a good deep bass and with a good mid and hi tone of Sennheiser, I could say if you love a dark tone earbuds with a good bass and good details, you’ll love this earphones, but I still can feel a little bit bright compared to my AKG K702 (yes I know that it is incomparable), while with the MX 880, with around 50% cheaper, bass is one of a problem if you are a bass lover who love to listen to Rock, Hip Hop, Dance, with earbuds, but still, with the Sennheiser audio character, I think it comes with a good mid and hi tone. So if possible, try Sennheiser MX 980 and you won’t regret it, this is one of the expensive earbud in the world at the moment !

what you have to trade for a good details headphones is less bass, I mean yes it has a good bass, but not as much as Shure SRH1440 that is its signature, but in contrast, you may say, AKG K550 gives a feeing of live music than Shure SRH1440, it comes with more natural tone, but again, in contrast, you may find  Shure SRH1440 can perform a better mass of sound.

You may need to think carefully which one you want to hear, a fun bass for Rock, Dance, Hip Hop, Electronic, if that is the case, I think Shure SRH1440 is a better choice with a little higher price, but you’ll love this headphones. But if what you are looking for is a studio monitoring tone headphones, I believe, AKG K550 can offer you a great music listening experience with a great precision, wide sound stage, and very friendly to hear with natural tone.

Sennheiser MX85 vs Sennheiser MX 680, which earbuds to buy ?

Both of them are almost 30 USD difference, but what makes a new comer like Sennheiser MX 680 cheaper than its predecessor and also what makes Sennheiser MX85 receive a better customer review ?

First of all these two in0ears are earphones for sport so it means that these two earphones are water proof, light weight and both of them feature Eafin holding system, but why Sennheiser MX 680 which is cheaper than Sennheiser MX85 receives a worst review rating than Sennheiser MX85 ? If you will use this Sennheiser MX 680 with an armband, you may’ve found that its cable is not long enough, and due to the fact that both of these earphones are earbuds, so they can protect you from environment noise quite well, and if you are a bass lover, you may disappointed since Sennheiser MX 680 has been labeled as lacks of bass earphones. But with the price of around 30 USD, half price of its predecessor, I don’t think it is that bad.

The interesting thing about Sennheiser MX85 is it is one of a few waterproof earphones in the market, if you are looking for an in-ear earphones that you can use to play sports, walking, jogging, this earphones is an interesting choice. So what is the sound character of this in-ear earphones ? If you think it will lack of bass like PX 200, you might be wrong since Sennheiser MX85 comes with all sound tone low, mid, hi, but how is it ?

Sennheiser MX85 offers an impact bass, a little blur on mid tone, you can feel hi-tone in vocal sometime this tone earphones has been characterize as sweet earphones (some may think it is too hi and cannot stand with this audio character) that means if you love HipHop, Dance, Sennheiser MX85 can use for these as well, it may not as bass boom as many bass emphasize earphones but it is there !  But it may depends on your sources, I’ve found that if you use it with IPod Classic the problem of hi pitch will disappear, but if you use it with IPod Touch you may have a problem with a hi-tone, if you don’t like this character earphones.
